Transformation of the pub

Our aim is to restore the pub to being of a traditional style, with warm colours, subdued lighting and a wooden bar.

We want the pub to have welcoming, cosy, familiar and friendly aesthetics. The St Radegund team are busy building upon the substantial structural work undertaken by the previous tenants (2020-2024) to deliver these goals.

Our team got the keys on 7 Nov 2025 and then the renovation work began. A new, longer, wooden bar has been installed, the décor and colour scheme are subdued to encourage a cosy vibe, multiple cask ale pumps have been connected and there is wooden furniture galore.

25 Jan 2026 – We’re just about there! The opening date is set for Thu 29 Jan from 5pm. Hope to see you soon!
19 Jan 2026 – Getting closer to opening – a new sign has gone up, bringing back some memories of the pub of old.
3 Jan 2026 – A traditional pub needs beer pumps, and the first 2 (of 9) have been installed (yes, with “test” barrels of good stuff at the other end in the cellar!).
31 Dec 2025 – Not a bench, instead a long thin table suitable for Cambridge’s smallest pub, but with enough space for a full spread of a Sunday broadsheet.
31 Dec 2025 – Reinstating some old pub memorabilia, but we’ll make space for new pictures to be added.
22 Dec 2025 – Big, thick, cosy, lush, velvet curtains and a TV ready for those “essential” sporting events. Bring on the Six Nations!
16 Dec 2025 – Preview of the bar installation. Tested to be the perfect height for sitting on a stool with a pint in hand.
8 Dec 2025 – Step by step… a little bit of painting, fridges in place, pipes re-worked and hot water finally back on. Bar install coming soon.
3 Dec 2025 – Workshop visit to @bluntaxedesign. Our new bar under construction. Not long now until installation.
28 Nov 2025 – Big painting weekend complete, lots of volunteers were in to make it more special.
28 Nov 2025 – Previous bar removed – ready for some flooring and a new wooden bar to go in.
7 Nov 2025 – This is our starting point. Clean lines, concise, modern bar, but we aspired to have more a traditional pub styling.
